Using basic HTML tags in auctions, sales, classifieds and directory ads.

This page describes the HTML commands that you can use in descriptions for your auctions, sales, classifieds and directory listings. You do not have to be a computer wizard to bold titles or insert line breaks in your descriptions. In fact you do it all the time with your word processor but you never new that was what you were doing!

What is HTML? HyperText Mark-up Language (HTML) is the set of commands used to format documents and images on the Internet. With a few keystrokes you can bold titles, italicize words or change the size of your text.

We will refer to individual HTML commands as tags. HTML is a very simple language, in most cases all you need to do is to enclose the text you want to format within the HTML tags and you are done.

    Here is an example you can use to build a description. Just cut and paste the entire section into the description and change the text. Delete any extra tags and the <!-- begin here -->, <!-- end here --> comment lines and submit the listing.
